REGENERATED

Regenerated begins with a profound exploration into the untapped potential of garment waste, a global crisis where only a mere 12% of materials used in clothing are recycled, and a staggering 450 million pieces of denim are discarded each year. This environmental challenge has become a call to action. In response, the collection breathes new life into old jeans, deconstructing their familiar form and creatively reimagining their details, honoring the craftsmanship within each thread. Through innovative silhouette construction, the designer reduces waste by minimizing the need for new fabric, weaving together sustainability and creativity in a harmonious dialogue. Regenerated is not just a collection; it is a movement, a reawakening of what was once discarded, and a vision of a more mindful, circular future for fashion.

The Oval

The collection was inspired by the serene elegance of Japanese architecture, Oval emerges as a masterpiece conceived by the renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The design seamlessly weaves together the delicate harmony of nature, modern art, and architectural brilliance, echoing a refined balance that speaks to both the spirit and structure of menswear. With every silhouette and shape, the designer invites the audience into a world where the soft whispers of gentleness intertwine with the bold, sculpted lines of muscularity, creating a striking dialogue between strength and grace. The result is a collection that transcends clothing, embodying a poetic symphony of form and function, where every fold and curve tells a story of quiet power and understated beauty.

Mentor Project- Michi

Under the visionary guidance of Michelle Watson, the founder of Michi, the collection was brought to life as a tribute to the spirit of the 2020 Olympics. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant hues of the Indian flag and the precision of archery—the designer’s chosen sport—the collection seamlessly blended bold color-blocking with striking graphic prints. Each piece was crafted with an unwavering focus on functionality, while harmonizing form and purpose, making the collection not just a visual masterpiece, but a celebration of athleticism and artistry intertwined.

Mentor Project- Jonathan Simkhai

Under the visionary mentorship of Jonathan Simkhai, the founder of SIMKHAI, a collection was born that beautifully captures the essence of the seascape. blending sustainability with the use of deadstock lace. The designer employed deconstructed and reconstructed lace appliqué, along with layered tulle, to evoke the essence of the seascape and the ombré effect of the colors.

Mentor Project- B. Akerlund

Project Partner: Jun(Junxin) Pang

Under the visionary mentorship by B Akerlund, the designers embarked on a journey to capture the profound emotional landscape shaped by the Covid-19 pandemic. In collaboration with Junxin Pang, they sought to bring to life a collection that embodied the weight of isolation, the suffocating darkness, and the silent struggle that defined those uncertain times. The collection is a reflection of both the confinement and the haunting aftermath of the pandemic—an exploration of hopelessness, paranoia, and resilience. Through the minimalist elegance of white, black, and gray, the designers wove a narrative of constraint, while adding elements like fuzzy balls and metal wire skeletons to evoke a sense of fragility and dimension. It is a collection that speaks to the very essence of human endurance, crafted from the simplest tones yet imbued with the deepest emotions.
